Back pain is very common and is often the result of poor posture, injury or repetitive strain. Back pain can involve the joints, discs, ligaments, muscles and nerves. There are other more serious causes of back pain but fortunately these are rare.
Physiotherapists are trained to diagnose the cause of your back pain and will carry out a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan for your particular problem.
Our spinal specialists are able to provide a wide range of treatments to relieve pain, restore movement and function. Treatment may include manipulation, mobilisation and soft tissue massage. Exercises may also be used to increase general fitness and to strengthen muscles which support the spine. If you are prone to back pain, a physiotherapist can also offer preventive advice and we may recommend you join one of our Pilates Classes. This will teach you how to strengthen your core muscles that help support your back and help prevent future problems.
