Sciatica is due to irritation of the sciatic nerve and this can cause pain in the back and leg, it can also be associated with tingling, numbness and muscle weakness.
There are many possible causes of sciatica including:
- Prolapsed discs
- Joint irritation
- Muscle spasm
- Arthritis
Physiotherapy will assess your problem, identify the cause of sciatica and provide appropriate treatment to reduce pain and restore movement.
